When bad things happen a schools

Date posted: 09 Jan 2012
In newsletters this year I have talked about schools confronted with earthquakes (NZ), cyclones (Qld), teacher death by accident (Vic) boarding house fires (Qld) and bad press (SA).
The way a school handles a crisis will leave an indelible impression.
Some schools do it well, others do not.
There are many lessons we can learn from marketers who have experienced catastrophes, so, at this year’s School Marketing Aforia I have gathered a panel of speakers from Australia and NZ who have managed serious incidents. They will tell us what they learned about communication in a crisis, the demands upon them in the heat of the emergency, post-crisis communication and what they would do differently.
